Almost everyone wonders what they are meant to do and if they will be successful one day or not. But what if we were to tell you that there are actual signs that could tell you if you will be rich one day? If you ever wondered about how to become rich, then you know that there are secrets to it, like anything else. But there are also signs that tell you if you have what it takes too.
Well, the truth is, studies show that attractive people are more likely to have a higher salary than unattractive people. Taller people make more income than people a few inches shorter than them. Those kinds of statistics are interesting, but not an accurate way to predict how wealthy you will be one day.
Having a good salary doesn’t really mean that you will be rich or wealthy.
The one thing that will accurately tell if a person will be rich one day or not is a person’s character. People who are more hardworking, dedicated, and open-minded have what it takes to be highly successful.
There are three other ways to determine your chances of success. If you show these three signs, then there is a strong chance you’ll be rich one day.
Watch this video for the three signs that you’ll become rich one day.
Sign 1. You have an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age
The first sign that you’ll become rich one day is having an entrepreneurial mindset and affinity for doing business at a young age. You see, most wealthy people started making their money very early and they all went about it in many different ways.
There are really no rules and right and wrong things to do – it’s mostly about taking action and doing what it takes to satisfy your entrepreneurial thirst and desire for growth.
Money Making As A Game
Entrepreneur and professional sports team owner Mark Cuban sold garbage bags door to door when he was 12 years old so he could buy shoes. Warren Buffett sold packs of gum to neighbors at the age of six and made his first stock investment at the age of 11.
Dan Lok also started making money at a very early age. He was looking for ways to make money, even as a kid. He often says that he isn’t necessarily interested in the money itself – but the game of making money. The mystery and the challenge that come with it were what drove and inspired Dan to challenge himself and start making money very early on in his life.
When he was a kid in Hong Kong, Dan started exploring money. As part of the Chinese New Year tradition, kids would get “lucky money” from family members. The tradition is that when children say “Gong Hei Fat Choy!” to their older family members – they receive money in return.
Dan was an interesting kid to all his aunts and uncles and he always got a lot of this “lucky money” from everyone. They were all very generous and he would collect a lot of money over the year.
But it wasn’t only their generosity that brought him this money. He realized that his cousins would get a few coins every year because they would only say a few words to people here and there. It quickly occurred to him that if he says more – he receives more money.
This is how he actually ended up closing people even as a kid without even realizing it. He started learning all different ways to wish people luck for the holidays and impressed all his aunts and uncles each year.
How To Become Rich is More Than Just a Game
This made him stand out as the smart and interesting kid in the family that everyone would give the most money to each year. They wanted to reward him for his intelligence and effort and he learned even then – hard work and more words pay off.
If you go about things in a lazy and uninterested way – you will get the same result. But if you actually put in the work to make people interested – you will be rewarded for your efforts and earn more money.
This is how Dan Lok made $3,000 – $5,000 each year even at 10 years old. He never had to worry about getting the food and toys he liked because he received enough money from his family that he could treat his whole class and share with his friends the money he earned even as a kid.
Make Money With Money
Another interesting piece of Dan Lok’s young entrepreneurial spirit story is that he quickly realized that money makes more money. He observed that the Chinese like to gamble and at age 11 he opened a little casino at his house where he would invite all his cousins and friends to play.
You see, he already knew how to make more money with money he had.
He learned that the only way he actually makes money is if he plays the house. It was clear to him that if he’s not the house, he loses the money. Even if he lost a bit of money, he knew that if he is the house he would be able to make some money at the end. He knew that the longer they stayed at his house, the higher the chances that he could make more money.
He would get food and drinks and make sure that everyone is comfortable and playing. They would stay for hours, sometimes even days. Eventually – they would lose all their money to Dan. So now you see…From the $3,000 – $5,000 he had, Dan would go to $10,000 by the time the next Chinese New Year comes around.
What’s Your Game?
So, Dan learned early on the game of money. He would use all he made to get the best presents for his cousins and buy them the best toys he could find. He would even take them to McDonald’s. Dan was growing his money as if he had a small business and learned quickly how to use the money to be able to treat his cousins and friends better.
Now, think about it – do you enjoy the game of making money? Did you play money games as a kid as well? Do you always look for ways to make more money with the money you have? If your answer is yes, then you have one of the key characteristics that determine whether or not you’ll be rich.
If you do not have this type of mindset, then you might need to put some extra work in.
Your aspirations to be rich one day and to live the life of your dreams will not come true by themselves. You will need to learn what tricks and secrets the rich have and how they use them to make money. This will help you shift your mindset and cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit.
2. You Have a Sense of Urgency
After studying over 500 millionaires, journalist and author Napoleon Hill found that successful people act promptly. In his 1937 personal finance classic, “Think and Grow Rich” he writes: “Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million-dollar mark disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly.”
If you are impatient and have a strong sense of urgency, you are probably a high achiever as well. Patience is not a virtue. Dan Lok always says that patience is a character flow because high achievers are impatient. They do not want to wait and they want to achieve their goals -now. High achievers and successful people know that time is precious and they try to make the most of it always.
Operate On a Different Level Than Others
Life is short. If you want to be rich, you cannot procrastinate. You have to work hard and make things happen, there is no easy way to success. This is what successful people know. They are the kind of person that would see a wall and immediately think about how to cross it to get to where they want to be. Successful people will do whatever it takes to eliminate obstacles.
Dan Lok naturally has a sense of urgency. He has the same sense when he had no money as well as now that he doesn’t have it. But Dan was always ready to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals and he never waited around for anything. He started and failed more time than he can count until he succeeded – he had the need to constantly take massive action.
This is what you have to possess naturally or develop over time as well if you want to become rich. You must be able to operate on a different level than others. You have to learn how to work at a faster pace and make sure that the people around you can keep up too.
3. You are Goal-Oriented
The third pillar of the mindset of the rich is that they re extremely goal-oriented. They have the clarity of vision and a plan for everything. All successful people are prepared to do the next big thing and have a clear vision in mind. They have focus and a clear plan of action for themselves. This strong goal-oriented mentality makes them super focused on what they want to achieve and prevents them from being distracted.
When you set goals, you’re actively choosing a life path with self-responsibility and that can make the difference between success and failure.
You see, the truth is that if you do not have a plan for yourself, you are most likely a part of someone else’s plan. You have to develop clarity and a vision as well as the ability to communicate your vision clearly. Rich and successful people are always crystal clear about what they want and they have the ability to communicate that to others.
If you want to be successful you also must know how to communicate with the people around you in a clear and straightforward manner. You must be able to share your vision with others and make them see it too.
If You Don’t Have a Plan For Yourself – Someone Else Does
Dan Lok always insists on goal setting and planning with all his students. He knows how important it is to have clarity of purpose and mission for yourself. Yet, he repeatedly sees students who are stuck in their 9-5 jobs, hating their lives and wishing that they could change something…but they don’t.
They are afraid to make the leap and stay in jobs they hate, working for someone else, and participating in someone else’s plan. This is how they make someone else rich instead of themselves. This is how you actually go broke.
You must find a way out of what makes you feel stuck or as if you are not living your life to the fullest. If your goal is to be rich one day, then you have to have the clarity of visions and the courage to pursue it. Without this, you will always end up chasing someone else’s goals and making their dreams come true instead of your own.
4. Always Push Yourself More
One last and a very important sign that you’ll be rich is your need for constant growth. Successful people are always working on improving themselves. They’re reading, learning, and educating themselves all the time.
According Chris Hogan, author of “Everyday Millionaires: How Ordinary People Built Extraordinary Wealth — and How You Can Too.” rich and successful people are incredibly hard workers who have strong self-determination and who always strive for more.
Dan Lok has read over 2,000 books. He’s constantly attending learning events and challenging himself to grow.
If you want to be rich, you have to focus on educating yourself and constantly improving. Listen to podcasts on your way to work, read books when your computer, attend seminars, and meet people. If you can, the best thing to do to for yourself is to find a mentor too who can guide you through your learning process.
Being Different is a Good Sign
If you are truly committed to your growth, then you sometimes need to be comfortable with being different. Chances are that you did not grow up in a rich family or environment. If your goal is to change that and become wealthy and successful then you need to invest in yourself and also be ok with standing out from your environment.
You have to dare to be different. Read, even if people around you don’t do it. Listen to podcasts instead of music. Watch documentaries and educational videos on YouTube instead of movies and reality TV. Stand out and stand firm in your desire to be wealthy.
The other very important thing is that you associate yourself with the people you want to learn from and be like. Steve Siebold, self-made millionaire and author of “How Rich People Think” is also a proponent of this argument. In the Business Insider he writes: “In most cases, your net worth mirrors the level of your closest friends.”
You Can Learn Anything If You Set Your Mind To It
You see, these signs show that you have a certain character that most wealthy and successful people do. Even if you have all four signs, it doesn’t mean that you will automatically become successful. Nothing happens just by itself. You have to put your mind to it and your efforts.
It doesn’t matter where you live or how old you are – you can always find a way to live the life you want. All you need is the right mindset and discipline to work towards your goals.
